praha day 2

Today, Robbie and I had breakfast at the hostel (doesnt really compare to the vienna breakfasts, but it wasnt bad) before walking towards old town (hradcany). We crossed Charles Bridge (karluv most) where there were bajillions of tourists. and construction. it was a little overwhelming. But we saw a statue of St. Margarita and a guy with a music machine and a toy monkey (shoulda had a real monkey like the movies). We then walked up to the castle where there was an amazing view (we took lots and lots of pictures today) and a vintage car show. Very random. We were planning on going in the castle today but then got distracted by a really cool park. We started walking through it and it turn out being really long and totally empty (a nice break from the tourists) so we just kept going til we got to the end. It was fun and relaxing, but we were pretty tired by the time we made it back to the hostel. We read/listened to music and showered, and talked to our roommates (both recently laid off and are currently "finding themselves" and using unemployment checks to subsidize their trips) and they were pretty funny. They left for a food fair in the rain, and we got dinner (croissants, sandwiches, bananas, beer) at an underground supermarket a couple blocks away.

not sure what to do next......... but there's a line for the computer.

MARGE AND ROBBIE

Vienna and Prague!

Robbie and i are in prague now (got in last night) at the "traveller's hostel". Its a really cool old building , and we have a room of just 4 people so it's really nice. THe location is amazing-- we are right next to the river and close to a subway stop (but i think old town is just a short walk).

We are both missing vienna a little bit. It was so sad to leave! Vienna is the greatest city I have ever been to. There were endless museums (the belvedere with klimts the kiss, the albertina with a rembrandt exhibit and randomly lots of french impressionist stuff, an awesome natural history museum, and the kunsts historishes museum with a cool exhibit of roman statues and jewelry). The cafes there were amazing too (we drank tons of coffee!). WE didnt eat at any restaurants but just bought bread and cheese and nutella at a grocery store down the street. Plus, our hotel had amazing breakfasts in the morning.

Robbie and i are about to go to a cafe for an espresso and decide what to do today in praha. Its supposed to rain all day, but hopefully it will clear up by tomorrow!

Much love,
MARGE AND ROBBIE!!!
