last day in paris!

Tonight is the last night of the trip that will be all together. In the morning, alice is catching a plane home; robbie is flying to london; and i take a train to gilly sur loire for my farming extravaganza. alice is convinced someone's travel plans will go severely wrong. the pessimist. we all leave very early in the morning and all from different stations/airports.

paris has been a lot of fun though. we havent actually done that much... we are all a bit culturally fatigued. but we did make it to the rodin museum and spent a good 3-4 hours at the louvre; and we saw notre dame de paris and shakespeare and co bookstore. mostly we have had lots of picnics (one on the lawn by the tour eiffel at sunset...)

we had one verrrry nice lunch at a restaurant called jardiniers. just like the good ol days.

and we met up with charlotte and got to see the triplets and that was fun. we got yummy gelato

hopefully i will have internet and can tell yall about this farming trip of mine.... i,m excited but a little bit nervous about what it will be like.

im glad to get out of this hotel though... its a bit cramped and the staff is a little scary

berlin and amsterdam

Sorry we havent been able to post for a while! we've been without internet for a bit.

Alice is now with us--she joined us in prague. She doesnt let robbie and i take as many naps or go to bed as early... but thats probably a good thing. We walked around some prague parks some more and went to a museum of WWI photos.

Next we went to Berlin

Berlin was amazing. All three of us fell in love with the city. It makes me want to learn german. Our hostel was really nice-- we were in a 4 person room so it was basically like being in a hotel. Our roommate was a guy from Holland who was there for a design festival. He was nice but kind of awkward. In Berlin we walked around a lot, we went on a really good walking tour, and did a couple museums.

And now we are in amsterdam. Our hostel isnt quite as nice (we are in a 20 person room with extremely sleazy roommies), and we are disturbingly close to the red light district. Prostitutes are terrifying. They all stand in windows and people gawk at them as they walk by. Amsterdam is probably our least favorite city, mostly because the tourists are so sleazy. We met up with gram's friend's daughter and her husband and son this morning though, and they were all really nice. As long as you get out of the touristy areas its a nice, quaint city.

This afternoon we are probably going to the van gogh museaum and tomorrow we are planning on renting bikes and going to the shore.

ciao!
